Happy Dragon Martial Arts Teaches Karate in Brisbane

I’ve published the training calendar for 2012 on the forum, complete with our Queensland Public Holidays and some other reference dates.

I’m pleased to announce the date for our Summer training camp on 26 February 2012.

We use a Macrocycle training plan, since we continue our karate training throughout the year.  This system allows us to vary the intensity and type of training to prevent us from burning out by doing too much too soon.  The macrocycle increases our strength and conditioning workout intensity each spring and autumn.  We then decrease intensity by focusing more on techniques and their applications during the summer and winter.   Each season has its own mesocycle training plan as well, designed to periodise intensity, endurancecompetition and recovery.  We’re going to have fun and work hard next year.

As my Sensei reminds me, you get out of your karate what you put into it.  Give it your all and enjoy the reward.
